2021: A year of Learning Opportunities in Review

2021 was another year in which Affinity’s Learning & Career department focused on responding in a proactive and adjusted manner to the needs of employees, offering quality Training and Certification opportunities that contribute in a real way to their career evolution.

Throughout the year, more than 20 training sessions were conducted in technological areas such as Angular, JavaScript, Java or Python; training in methodology areas, such as Scrum Master and Functional Analysis; and training in soft skills such as Communication or Storytelling. In addition, we’ve also dedicated a considerable investment in language training, namely English training for operational teams and training in French for teams of consultants who work with French speaking clients. Our intention is to provide a diversified training offer that meet existing learning needs in distinct areas and are aligned with market trends. The receptivity and participation of Affinity’s employees was quite positive in all of them, resulting in an average attendance above 83%.

In 2021, we also focused once again on offering individual certification opportunities, supporting our consultants in the development of essential skills for their evolution in the current project or future career ambitions. In an agile and proactive way, a follow-up moment is scheduled with the consultants, meeting and making a survey of their specific needs and motivations. Based on this analysis, the Learning & Career department designs, presents, and provides tools in a tailor-made training plan, which may include training, certifications, live training, or e-learning, according to the consultant’s profile and preferences. Within the scope of these Individual Training Plans, our employees were offered certifications in OutSystems (OutSystems Associate Tech Lead and OutSystems Professional Web Developer) as well as in Scrum Master and ISTQB. In 2022, the department aims to reach more and more consultants in this personalized and proactive way.

In addition to these training and career development strategies, Affinity also offered more than 1,200 hours of training on e-learning platforms – Udemy, and through its partnership with Microsoft, celebrated this year, it managed to strengthen its employees’ access to a great diversity of events, actions and opportunities that also enhance Learning.

With useful and diverse themes, that guarantee the inclusion, interest, quality, and satisfaction of employees, 2021 was a successful year for our Learning & Career department that keeps striving for more and better ensuring excellent learning opportunities for all our employees.
